Description

The smallest passive sensor of physical quantities is based on micro-wires. Contactless measurement of physical quantities (temperature, mechanical stress, torsion, pull, position, magnetic field, and more), uses one interface. Sensors can be mixed in many materials and used in many areas: the Internet of Things, Structural Health Monitoring, Constructions, Biomedical Applications, Preventive and Predictive Maintenance tooling.

In the picture, you can see 100s of sensors…
Microwire sensors by RVmagnetics are miniaturized (diameter ca. 3-70 μm) magnetic contactless sensors of physical quantities (temperature, pressure, pull, mechanical stress, torsion, magnetic field, position, etc.).

Microwires are composite materials that consist of a metallic nucleus (diameter ca. 1-50 μm) and glass coating (thickness 2-20 μm). Their size, high added value, robustness, simple production process, and finally their symmetry, glass-coating, the possibility of contactless sensing leads to their utilization as a miniaturized sensor with a wide range of applications in industry.
