Creating flexible sensor architectures
ICS – Interactive Composite Systems ™ is Loson’s patented technology designed to turn composite components into active sensors, to collect real time operating data.
ICS™ technology is built around a flexible array of task specific sensors, amplifiers, software and services, which can be personalized to suit different measurement needs. This technology offers a modular architecture, using individual sensors to build multisensor architectures, to multilayer arrays.
ICS™ – Modular Sensing Unit is the base of our system and includes:
– specialized capacitive circuits to measure physical properties or phenomena like thickness, position, distance, proximity, contamination. The type and arrangements of circuits can be custom designed and engineered to suit specific needs.
ICS Modular Sensing Units are tipically made up of a number task specific sensors engraved on a fiberglass layer, thus providing easy integration within composites, avoiding delamination and becoming an isolated system. This ensures protection from ruptures, corrosion, humidity, contamination and ease of connection, even with rotating elements.
All components are tested to withstand curing pressures and temperatures.
ICS™ – Modular Sensing Units integrate with ICS™ Programmable Amplifiers to collect and manage data and signals.
All components can be bought separately for self integration and assembly. Loson can provide the integration to design an integrated ICS Sensing Unit, complete with sensors and connections and lamination instructions for self production, or can engineer and produce the full, sensorized component.
