Description

We are passionate about helping others to find the challenges and opportunities that careers involving electric machines and drives can offer

Through a combination of internal investment and supported by the InnovateUK Driving the Electric Revolution initiative we have been developing and trialling a range of bench-top teaching hardware to support a wide range of training settings and learners. These are currently being finalized ready to be offered on general sale from Q1 2025

There are 3 key elements of the family:
– STEM kits suitable for KS1 upwards demonstrating the basics of magnetism, electromagnetism and simple control for electric motors
– Teaching electric motors, designed ground-up to support learning outcomes from electromagnetic design to winding and mechanical assembly. All major machine technologies are available and the platform is flexible to support customization
– Teaching controller power boards, allowing learners to safely and easily explore the operating principles of motor controllers. The boards are designed to interface to common microprocessor demo boards including the widely adopted TI C2000 range

The DriveLab system is open and modular, supporting trainers to adopt and adapt to suit their own teaching topics and styles.

We also have further teaching aids in development, e.g. bench-top hairpin winding tutorial set, and welcome the chance to discuss your related training & demonstration needs.
