WMG’s Materials and Manufacturing research team have recently purchased a Compcut 200 Advanced Composite Saw to satisfy their requirement to produce ASTM/ISO standard compliant test coupons across a diverse range of high performance (non-metallic) lightweight structural materials, supporting their portfolio of research into materials and processes for low-emission mobility applications.
This new unit is strategically located in the WMG Materials Engineering Centre (MEC) alongside industrial scale manufacturing facilities and comprehensive mechanical and micro-structural characterisation equipment and facilities enabling an ‘all under one roof’ turnaround – from raw material to industrial manufacture and then testing, within as little as 48 hours.
