Howmet Fastening Systems, manufacturer of the Huck® range of engineered vibration-proof fasteners and installation tools, has responded to customer demand by designing new, revolutionary battery powered installation tools for the installation of Huck lockbolts (up to 14mm), and large diameter structural blind rivets (up to 12.7mm).
The new battery tools, developed in conjunction with Makita, feature class-leading, electronically adjustable pulling force for the installation of pintail-less lockbolts.
Each battery tool has the power to install up to an impressive 1,000 installations per battery charge, depending on fastener type and diameter, making it equally suitable for fastener installations on the production line or in the field, for repair or in-situ assembly for machinery in markets such as Agricultural or Renewable Energy.
Joël Melquiot, Huck Product Manager at HFS said: “Huck is a well-respected brand of products with a strong reputation for engineering reliable, superior quality fasteners and tooling that work to meet the ever-evolving needs of our customers in safety critical applications. The new BV13 and BV17 tools solve issues our customers were facing in installing fasteners in locations not suitable for powerigs (power generation equipment) or trailing hoses and cables.”
