DIEFFENBACHER was named AI Champion Baden-Württemberg 2024 by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism Baden-Württemberg on July 11 for its developed artificial intelligence to optimize production processes in the wood-based panels and forming industries.
“We’re delighted that our AI was honored by the jury as an outstanding solution for the current market challenges,” says Jürgen Woll. “We developed the award-winning AI specifically for our digital platform EVORIS, an intuitive tool that provides our customers comprehensive insights into their entire production process. This enables them to quickly and precisely optimize their processes to achieve the desired product quality in a more sustainable, resource-saving and economical way,” he explains.
“The special thing about our solution is that our AI-supported apps process thousands of signals that converge in EVORIS,” says Florian Schleissinger, Senior Software Engineer at DIEFFENBACHER. “The apps can report anomalies in the production process or predict the quality of a produced wood-based panel in real-time, for example. This enables our customers to detect production deviations early and make production more efficient. That’s a decisive advantage.”
Digitalization and AI are developed in departments throughout DIEFFENBACHER to constantly drive the expansion of AI algorithms and models and their integration into the company’s software. Customer feedback on their challenges in the wood-based panels and forming industries directly impacts AI and software development. DIEFFENBACHER also works closely with institutes such as Fraunhofer IOSB and wbk Institute of Production Science of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology to incorporate the latest research findings into product development.
