Royal Tool Control Ltd has been operating in the UK since 1968.
Royal Tool Control Ltd. originally obtained Quality Assurance certification to BS 5750 in 1992 and this has been progressively upgraded to the current BS.EN.ISO.9001:2015 in 2018
In 2000 Royal Ltd obtained the Q1 certification from Ford Motor Company under QS9000 TE supplement;
Royal Tool Control Ltd. is at present, the only UK Tool Pre-setting gauge manufacturer to have ISO.9001- certification, which backs our commitment to supplying the best quality products and service available.
In line with the Automotive industries commitment to implement an environmental system, and to encourage its suppliers to do the same, Royal obtained certification for the Environmental Management system to BS EN ISO 14001:1996 in October 2001, this was also upgraded to the current BS.EN.ISO.14001:2015 in 2018.
Royal have been awarded “SafeContractor” approval certification in recognition of the outstanding Health and Safety system that we operate, and again this year we were awarded accreditation of the Alcumus SafeContractor in the SSIP Safety schemes in procurement approval.
Our company is a well-known and respected SME organisation, based on a single site at our UK manufacturing facility in Sheffield.

Royal Tool Control Ltd specialise in providing complete Tool preset rooms and all the associated equipment including full “Turn-key” packages including wash machines, shrink machines etc, and manufacture and supply the Royal “Variset” and “EVOSET-Toolmaster” range of Tool Setting Gauges, Including a comprehensive range of Tool storage and supporting equipment, this includes the design and manufacture and servicing of standard and special gauges, the manufacture & customisation of additional equipment such as special storage systems, custom foam drawer inlays, tool handling, lifting and tool transportation units.
Royal also provide the design, implementation, and support of its own standardised stand alone tool management software ‘Variset 3’ and the browser based ‘Variset 5’, software solution for the larger international companies.
We also specialise in customised solutions of the software for ‘Tool Management’, ‘Tool Life Scheduling’ and ‘Inventory Control’ etc. to meet specific customer requirements
We do not manufacture or supply cutting tools, however we do have a number of associations and close working relationships with the major cutting tool suppliers worldwide.
Royal Tool Control Ltd have a good reputation and trading record and have been in the UK for the past 50 years, and the company has a stable financial base. Our work force is stable with a high percentage of the core staff having been employed at Royal for more than 30 years and a number of them have been working for Royal since the company started.
Our customers are primarily in the Automotive Engineering Industry; Royal UK already has a large customer base within the UK and European Automotive Manufacturers.
Other sectors that we support include the Machine Tool Suppliers, the Aerospace Industry, the Defence Industry and General Engineering & Manufacturing organisations.
