RED Scientific Limited (RED) is a long-established, privately owned, ISO 9001:2015 registered, independent digital engineering consultancy. We provide technical, managerial, and scientific support to a wide range of customers, including industry, defence, and central government. RED’s Mission is “Building trusted partnerships to consistently deliver ‘The Science Behind Improved Decision Making”, and our Vision is to “Improve customer outcomes by exploiting our digital enabled engineering capability, in order to remain a resilient and stable independent SME”. Formed in 1990, RED Scientific has grown from a small, niche operational analysis business into a broad-based consultancy supporting the full range of domain and technical specialist requirements for our customers. RED Scientific is certified in accordance with the Cyber Essentials scheme as required for MOD contracts by the Defence Cyber Protection Partnership / Cyber Security Model. In addition, the RED team has a number of MODNET accounts and operates fully accredited connections via DisX.
Fundamental to our business, RED Scientific Ltd is committed to delivering Social Value (SV) by improving the wellbeing of its employees, our local and business communities, and the natural environment. As a Small to Medium sized Enterprise technical and management consultancy, RED’s social impact arises from how we run our business, the activities of our staff and direct support provided to charities and community initiatives.
RED has effective policies in place that recognise and guide the SV aspect of our business activities. These include SV, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and a Carbon Reduction Plan that details RED’s roadmap to Carbon Net Zero.
RED exploits its links with UK Defence to strengthen the SV outputs of its business activities. Approx. 20% of our employees are ex service personnel and we proudly support the Reserve Forces and Cadets. After becoming signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant in 2019, we were awarded the Bronze Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) award in 2023 (Defence Employer Recognition Scheme – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk). Significantly, in 2024, we have been recognised for our continued support of Armed Forces Veterans, Reserve Forces, and Cadets, by being awarded the ERS Silver award. It is RED’s aim to build on this by identifying further opportunities to work with the wider Armed Forces community. RED has recently established relationships with recruitment organisations specialising in the wider Armed Forces community demographic, e.g. Forces Families Jobs (https://www.forcesfamiliesjobs.co.uk/), enabling RED to target this unique talent pool, provide employment opportunities and ultimately deliver focussed and significant value to our customers, whilst continuing to support the UK Armed Forces community.
