Fibre processing technology specialist Cygnet Texkimp has won four awards at the finals of the UK’s Northern Automotive Alliance (NAA) Awards and the Make UK Manufacturing Awards for the North West.

Fibre processing specialist Cygnet Texkimp has won four awards at the Northern Automotive Alliance (NAA) and Make UK Manufacturing Awards for the North West, recognising its contributions to decarbonisation and innovation in the global automotive and aerospace industries.

At the NAA Awards held on 19th September in Crewe, Cygnet Texkimp claimed the International Trade award, received Highly Commended in the Innovation category, and was named Company of the Year. Judges praised its development of fibre processing solutions that support carbon reduction, including a high-tension carbon fibre overwrapping technology for electric motors and hydrogen fuel cell powertrains, and its DEECOM recycling solution to promote circularity in composite materials. The NAA commended Cygnet Texkimp’s carbon fibre processing work at its new Innovation Centre, which addresses decarbonisation and sustainability challenges in automotive manufacturing.

On 24th October, Cygnet Texkimp won the Innovation award at the Make UK North West Manufacturing Awards in Burnley. This award acknowledged its collaborative approach to advancing composites and materials science, delivering technologies that enhance sustainability, efficiency, and performance in aerospace and automotive.

Cygnet Texkimp CEO Luke Vardy said, “Winning four awards at these prestigious events highlights the hard work and vision of our engineers, product innovators, and market specialists. Together, we’re developing fibre processing capabilities that support a new generation of energy-efficient, sustainable motor vehicles and aircraft.”

Cygnet Texkimp will compete in the Make UK national finals in January 2025.
