Position Summary: The Laminator at iCOMAT will be responsible for the precise and skilled application of composite materials in the manufacturing of high-performance components. This role requires a strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality, as you will be directly involved in the creation of products that meet the exacting standards of our customers. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with composite materials, particularly in the areas of hand lay-up and vacuum bagging.

Key Responsibilities:

Using pre impregnated tooling fabric to laminate moulds directly from patterns ensuring Technical Procedures/QA documentation/Work Orders and sign offs are adhered to.
Using Vacuum bagging techniques to debulk.
Positioning of drill bushes in the mould laminate
Parting of Mould from Patterns and preparing the tool pre and post cure
Laminating components using pre-impregnated carbon with various weave styles and impregnated with epoxy resin systems ensuring Technical Procedures/QA documentation/Work Orders and sign offs are adhered to.
Reading and understanding engineering drawings and Ply Books to extract relevant information.
Using Templates to enable repeatability when available.
Make sure all paperwork is correct and completed at all times before starting the next operation.

Qualifications & Experience:

Proven experience as a Laminator in a composite manufacturing environment, preferably within the aerospace or automotive sectors.
Strong knowledge of composite materials.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical work instructions.
Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
Understanding of quality control processes and standards in composite manufacturing.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong commitment to health and safety in the workplace.
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes’.
