Have you ever received a corroded component in your work area and immediately blamed the previous process or person for this issue?

It is not always clear where corrosion occurs especially where there are complex and often international supply chains. Therefore, it is essential to look at the whole process from start to finish.

There are a whole host of situations where corrosion can occur whether this is during long-term storage, transportation, exposure to high humidity, poor handling or not adequately protecting clean products. It is possible for clean metal components to start to showing signs of corrosion after only a few minutes, this may not be obvious initially but could become so further through the process route and maybe several stages later.
