At HyProMag, our aim is to develop a full recycling supply chain for rare earth magnets based upon neodymium iron boron (NdFeB). The core of our business is the patented Hydrogen Processing of Magnet Scrap (HPMS) technology developed in the Magnetic Materials Group (MMG) at the University of Birmingham. This is a highly energy efficient process of extracting NdFeB in powder form from magnets embedded in end-of-life equipment such as hard disk drives, electric motors and many other products.
The extracted NdFeB powder is in the form of an alloy which can be re-processed into different forms to be sold back into the supply chain for rare earth magnets.
Our mission is to reduce dependence on primary rare earth sources and foster a more sustainable, circular economy for magnetic materials.
