ICS SMART WING ™

Loson’s experience in the aerospace industry, from drones to satellites, and in the development of sensorized layers for integration in composite materials has resulted in ICS Smart Wing ™.
Based on our patented ICS™ technology, this innovative system transforms the leading edge of wings in active sensors to measure ice formation, thickness and position.
Available at the end of 2025, this system can be effectively integrated in eolic turbines or next generation airframes, both military and civilian. ICS Smart Wing ™ can distinguish between ice and water and measure ice thickness. By being embedded in the composites structure, ICS Smart Wing ™ can be distributed along the entire leading edge and, by using segmented ICS™ – Modular Sensing Units can position ice buildup and thickness along the wing. All components can be bought separately for self-integration and assembly by the constructor. Loson can also provide the engineering and integration for the system, complete with lamination instructions for self-production, or can engineer and produce the full, sensorized composite component.
