Bio-resin Vacuum Infused Recycled Carbon Fibre Marine Products

Description

The market for recycled carbon fibre is limited by performance and aesthetic nature of the reclaimed materials which added to the difficult nature of infusing coarse, recycled fibres makes the thought of a marketable, sustainable product unlikely.

MTAG have developed a product suitable for Marine application using a regular RTM tool to infuse a foredeck using recycled foam cores, recycled carbon fibres and resins of up to 60% bio sourced materials all cured at low temperatures.

Designed to achieve a balance of aesthetics, performance and cost, the product is made from recycled materials partially reclaimed from the production of other composite products, requiring less processing (due to being self coloured) and is a completely comparable alternative to its traditional glass-fibre predecessor.

Bio based resin combined with a recycled polyurethane foam core and recycled carbon fibre dry matting processed using RTM to produce a self finished marine component which is both recycled and recyclable. Performance and aesthetics are comparable with minimal increased cost.
