Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Powertrain)

We are looking to expand our Mechanical Design team within our Powertrain department and have a vacancy for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. Your responsibilities will include producing and documenting design evidence, creating work instructions, and conducting functional and installation checks on prototypes. You will also develop customer documentation for safe usage and maintenance, release designs for manufacturing, and present design concepts to stakeholders. Additionally, you will perform Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and create engineering guides and standards to ensure the development of reliable, cost-effective, and competitive solutions. You will be degree qualified with experience of engineering of automotive or motorsport systems/components as part of an OEM, tier 1 supplier, enginering consultancy or motorsport team. You will have experience of mechanical design of high voltage battery assemblies.

You will be degree qualified with experience of engineering of automotive or motorsport systems/components as part of an OEM, tier 1 supplier, engineering consultancy or motorsport team. You will have experience of mechanical design of high voltage battery assemblies.

You will be skilled in:

– The use of a high-level CAD package (Catia / NX).
– The production of engineering documents, CAD Models and Engineering Drawings.
– The application of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)​
– The application of the Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) process.
– Applying structured problem-solving approaches and analytical tools such as 8D and Ishikawa.
– The identification of applicable regulatory requirements and standards to produce designs to satisfy any such requirements.
