Live application at Fakuma trade fair 2017
DOPAG will introduce the innovative LSR technology for the first time at the Fakuma trade fair 2017, the leading international trade fair for plastics processing in Friedrichshafen, Germany. From 17 to 21 October, the new silcomix LSR-pump will be on display at the DOPAG booth. The application is realized by DOPAG together with the injection molding machine manufacturer Wittmann Battenfeld as well as the material manufacturer Wacker Chemie and the mold manufacturer EMDE. Visitors could view the processing of LSR materials with the new LSR pump live in an application. DOPAG experts are available for questions and advice. Another live production of LSR products with the new silcomix can also be visited at the booth of the injection molding machine manufacturer KraussMaffei. They show how reliable the DOPAG LSR pump operates in the production chain.
The new silcomix type PE200/20 offers reliable production in all areas thanks to a wide range of applications. The silcomix processes virtually all of the LSR materials available on the market – whether they are of extremely low, medium or high viscosity – continuously and with high precision. The silcomix LSR-pump comes equipped with a new mixing system as well as innovative SWIPSYNC technology. This way, the liquid plastic may be delivered in an optimum manner in order to obtain high-quality end products.
The newly developed mixing system allows the user simple, intuitive, and fast handling with extended functions thanks to its compact design. An integrated ‘Snuff-Back’ function closes the valve opposite to the flow direction. The outflow rate is thus carefully controlled. In addition, the temperature of the new mixing unit may continuously be controlled while tool less maintenance intervals offer increased comfort. Thanks to the modular structure, the mixing unit may be accurately adapted to many different applications.
The precise compliance with the mixing ratio of A-component and B-component is utilised by the new SWIPSYNC technology. Here, the servo-electrical drives allow for the synchronous changeover between the piston metering pumps. This is done independently of the current position of the related pump piston and prevents the mixing ratio from shifting due to different changeover positions. The volume flows are automatically adjusted while the drums are drained evenly; material residues in the drum lie below one percent. At the same time, a special control of the servo drives significantly reduces the drop of the pressure and allows the volume to flow while also cutting down on the time required. Within the predefined tolerances, the mixing ratio remains constant during the injection molding process – no matter whether small or larger shot quantities are discharged.
Further outstanding features of the new silcomix: The extremely compact structure ensures a minimum footprint of less than 14 square feet. A drum roll-in device and preinstalled process interfaces to the automatic injection molding machine offer high user friendliness and ease of operation. In addition, automatic de-aeration functions for follower plates and pumps as well as step-by-step instructions on the touch display enable significantly reduced setup times.
