Behind the booth: Stories from the Show Floor – meet Alsico

London, 10/10/23

  1. What motivated your company to participate in this year’s Advanced Engineering UK event?

Our participation in this year’s show is driven by our commitment to innovation and sustainability. We recognise the critical role that workwear plays in achieving a cleaner planet, and our aim is to demonstrate how comfort, protection, and sustainability can go hand in hand, pushing the boundaries of what workwear can achieve.

  1. Can you provide a sneak peek into the solutions you’ll showcase at the event?

At the event, we’re thrilled to showcase ALSIFLEX®, our fabric stretch technology that represents the future of eco-conscious and innovative clothing. It is a testament to our belief that workwear can be effective, safe, and environmentally responsible. We’re eager to share this vision with industry professionals and demonstrate how innovation and sustainability can coexist seamlessly.

  1. Are there any industry-specific challenges or opportunities in the UK market that your products or solutions address?

In the UK market, as in the global industry, sustainability is a pressing challenge. The apparel industry’s emissions are projected to rise significantly, and textile production contributes to industrial wastewater. ALSIFLEX® directly addresses these challenges and is designed with a deep commitment to environmental responsibility, aligning with the industry’s growing need for eco-conscious solutions.

  1. How does your company contribute to sustainability and environmental considerations in the engineering industry?

As a company, we want to contribute to an economy that respects the planet’s boundaries and guarantees basic social rights. We want to take this responsibility by systematically including ecological, social and economic considerations in our daily policy. This is then sewn into the clothing we manufacture for the engineering industry, ensuring we can offer garments that are made from recycled materials and ensuring we reduce the environmental footprint of workwear production.

  1. What ongoing efforts does your organisation make to stay at the forefront of technological advancements and maintain a competitive edge in the market?

Innovation is at the core of Alsico’s mission. We have a dedicated innovation team who continuously research and develop the latest technology to stay ahead of technological advancements. From developing cutting-edge fabric technologies that prioritise comfort and safety to meticulously designing garments that blend style with function. Our innovation team thrive on the challenges that come with creating workwear that not only meets industry standards but sets new benchmarks for excellence.

Ultimately, they ensure that our brand’s promise, “Our Performance Protects Yours,” is not just a slogan but a commitment to safeguarding the wearers and helping businesses utilise the latest innovations to perform at their best.

  1. What networking opportunities or collaborations are you hoping to explore during your time at the event?

This is our first time attending the Advanced Engineering show and we can’t wait to speak to engineering professionals from a huge variety of sectors about how their workwear requirements are currently being met and how they can be better protected. We are excited to be bringing our wider team to the event to really capture the experiences of those we endeavour to protect and empower with our garments. Our aim is to build partnerships that contribute to a cleaner, safer world through sustainable workwear.

  1. Can you highlight any keynote speeches, workshops, or sessions related to your field of expertise that you’re particularly excited about?

We, of course, are looking forward to the speech from our Technical Sales Manager about the evolution of workwear, but apart from that, we are looking forward to Richard Noble’s keynote speech on innovation & how to innovate.
