Press Release: 27th October 2022: Made in Britain is organising and hosting a panel debate on 3rd November 2022 at the Birmingham NEC as part of this year’s Advanced Engineering conference. The annual trade show, now in its thirteenth year, brings together manufacturers with suppliers from all links in the supply chain.

The panel, entitled ‘Innovation Nation: How British Engineering Firms are Leading the Way in Solutions and Sustainability’, will be moderated by Made in Britain CEO John Pearce, with speakers are drawn from Made in Britain member companies:

● Adam Dalby, Managing Director, Brafe Engineering Ltd
● Peter Diamond, Chairman, Pudsey Diamond Engineering Ltd
● Matthew Shaw, Head of Sales, R E Thompson

Brafe is a leading manufacturer of high specification alloy castings, supporting global customers with an end-to end single service solution; Pudsey Diamond provides quality engineering solutions from lighting columns and brackets to street scene furniture; and R E Thompson is a precision engineering firm with an extensive range of capabilities to cater to
a wide variety of industries.

Made in Britain CEO John Pearce said: “Our ‘Innovation Nation’ Made in Britain panellists are great examples of how adaptable, diverse and vibrant the engineering business is in the UK. Engineers working sustainably are crucial for our future – providing solutions to a wide range of industries, from pushing the boundaries of applied science to transport. I am delighted to be moderating this stellar group of speakers from member companies that represent creativity and innovation from across the engineering sector.”

Allison Willis, Divisional Managing Director at Easy Fairs said “Every year at Advanced Engineering, we’re amazed by the number of British businesses leading the way in sustainability and innovation. With the net zero by 2050 target fast approaching, it’s more important than ever to invest in the technologies that will help us reach this goal and become a more sustainable nation. This is why panel discussions like this are so important.”

The Made in Britain panel event will take place at 11am on 3rd November 2022
at Advanced Engineering, Birmingham NEC
